World Gym

I don't go to World Gym, my wife does. After being a member for years past her contract, she tried to pause her membership because she was pregnant but she came home telling me they couldn't pause it as long as we wanted so the only option was to cancel. Then that process took long enough for another payment to come out. She went back recently to start there again and was told she had to pay a new member joining fee which wasn't cheap (considering the number of other gyms offering free sign-up contracts). After talking to the owner they said they could discount the joining fee to about $45 I think it was which is a joke. She was a member for years and only wanted to pause her membership because she had a baby. Expecting her to pay another joining fee is a joke and terrible customer service. If I had been there, they would have either waived the fee completely or I would have been taking our business elsewhere. She wanted to stay there because they are the only gym near home with child minding but I couldn't care less about that. I'd prefer to look after our son every time she wants to train rather than pay a monthly fee to a gym with terrible customer service.

I have got to say this is a great Gym and what makes it good is the friendly staff. Steph, Roma and Michael (PT) have made it very comfortable for us as we were really not sure if we wanted to take the leap, the 2 girls above mentioned are friendly very personable and always have time for the clients which is how it should be, Michael goes beyond the call of duty I feel like he treats my Son like he would his own, he really does care. A gym is suppose to be friendly and chatty that’s what makes it fun and exciting to go. Guys thank you so much to the 3 of you who have made a difference in our lives and feel like we have new friends, isn’t that how a community should act. Keep smiling, keep doing what you guys are, you have won us over. 🌟🌟🌟

The gym has a lot to offer, however the environment the owners allow is it’s downfall. Be nice if the owners brought in some ruling regarding so much filming by individuals with no respect of other gym goers. Every work out feel as though I’m dodging someone’s selfie mode, camera recording or filming themself dancing, then world gym re shares these post in support of this behaviour with strangers going about their days in the background . Please consider some people may have DV orders and don’t wished to be filmed and located by someone, and all gym goers should have their privacy respected.

Wanting to cancel gym membership, the 6 months membership only, is a lie. They said the minimum repayments is 30 weeks that equivalent to 7.5 months. And when I transferred my membership to someone, paid 75$ they then renew it for another 7.5 months for him, it wasn't a "continuation" of membership. I have all the e-mail transactions and called the gym a lot of times but out of 20+ attempts they just answered once. If you are signing up keep a copy of your agreement as what they are saying is very different from what is written and all your transactions should be in writing otherwise you'll get burnt if you are wanting to opt out.
